An experimental hut trial have been conducted in Burkina Faso to evaluate the residual efficacy of VECTRON™ T500 when applied to concrete and mud huts surfaces against pyrethroid susceptible Anopheles gambiae s.s. and resistant wild An. coluzzii. VECTRON™ T500 provided residual efficacy (>80%) to nine months on concrete and mud substrates against susceptible mosquitoes, on mud substrates against the resistant mosquito strains, and to eight months on mud and concrete substrates against the resistant mosquito strains.

An. gambiae s.s. KISUMU Insecticide susceptible
An. coluzzii VK High resistant to pyrethroids, DDT and dieldrin, moderately resistant to carbamates

Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé

Long residual activity against both susceptible and resistant strain in experimental huts

The red line (80% mortality) is the WHO guidelines (2006) criterion for the number of months of residual efficacy
